Sammie Smith was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2007 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University in 1991, and her Juris Doctor from Texas Weslyan University School of Law in 2005. Prior to attending law school, she worked as a litigation paralegal for fourteen years in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation, toxic tort litigation and insurance defense.
After becoming a partner in the firm, Sammie Smith solidified her litigation experience in both State and Federal courts in a wide variety of civil cases, including those involving personal injury, products liability, premises liability, commercial and construction litigation. Sammie Smith now heads the firm’s family law division, focusing primarily on divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support, paternity, domestic violence and grandparent’s rights in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and surrounding counties. She also handles probate and estate planning and administration, including wills, durable powers of attorney (medical and financial), and declarations. In addition to practicing law, Sammie Smith has been a certified mediator since 2005, regularly receiving court appointments from local judges. She is also active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and the Dallas Bar Association. Sammie Smith was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. She currently resides in Southlake with her husband and daughter.
